Our Health and Wellness program focuses on food insecurity
Health and Wellness
Our Health and Wellness program focuses on food insecurity, along with health promotion and disease prevention by educating communities and empowering individuals to make healthier choices. We understand that health and wellness, especially food insecurity, directly impacts a kid's performance in the classroom.
CommUnity Health Fair
Our Annual Community Health Fair is our flagship Health and Wellness Program that embodies our commitment to building healthier communities.
Since 2013, our Health Fair has realized continuous growth and now encompasses 1000 participants, 50 health partners and over 20 corporate sponsors. With their support we provide: Free medical, dental and other health related screenings, along with providing backpacks, health lifestyle information and school supplies.
Food Insecurity
In 2019, it was estimated that more than 37 million people, including 11 million children lived in food insecure households throughout the US. AIM-TN understands the impact food insecurity has on kids and families throughout Middle TN, knowing that hunger impacts both health and academic performance.
AIM-TN spearheads many initiatives with corporate partners and volunteers to address this ongoing challenge.
